In 1956, British forces withdrew from the military base in Habbaniya, west of Iraq in Al-Anbar province. To mark this historic occasion, His Majesty King Faisal II and Prince Abd al-Ilah were in attendance. The photograph speaks for itself: His Majesty King Faisal (may God have mercy on him) is seen reviewing the British Guard of Honor. In the foreground stands the commander of the British Guard, followed by the Prince. A significant period later, the Royal Family was tragically lost at Al-Rehab Palace, including King Faisal, Prince Abd al-Ilah, and others. May God Almighty have mercy on them all.
